THE ODD ONE OUT
Silence is not the absence of
noise,
But the peace of mind.
Such is the view of an optimist,
But there's also a pessimistic
side.
She was quiet, not because she
was wrong,
But she was afraid her reply
would upset the crowd.
She was neither shy nor awkward,
She just didn't agree to social structure.
People called her names she never
bothered to put right.
Coz she knew, the more she
illustrated her point of view,
The more they would exploit her, irrespective of
who.
She was not mute, but was silenced.
Her mind screamed with ideas so
abstract,
That nobody could decipher her
concepts.
She was not stone hearted or
cold,
Her heart was full of compassion.
But she couldn’t afford to get
hurt,
So she chose discreet expression.
You see she had a heart of a
jelly,
And joy in her belly.
Everyone called her silly,
But nobody ever understood her
really.
